External Development Manager

Bonfire is looking for an External Development Manager to drive our operational processes and help us build, and maintain, excellent relationships with our outsourcing partners. Bonfire Studios is a highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment where every developer’s voice shapes the company, the game, and the tasks we work on each day. You will be joining a small, focused team, and you will have the opportunity to help shape our new IP and create amazing experiences for our players.

In this role you will...
  • Own and maintain Bonfire's external vendor database and associated workflows, with a focus on scalability, automation, and visibility.
  • Own the creation, socialization, and facilitation of external development processes for vendor management, so these are well understood within the organization - including contract facilitation, new External Development business request, IT onboarding/offboarding, permissions, invoicing, and vendor performance reviews.
  • Be the primary point of contact with internal Bonfire operational teams, fostering strong relationships and establishing shared goals through collaboration.
  • Challenge the existing norms by seeking innovative ways to improve and shape the operations of external development for the future, always striving for improvement and standardization to appreciably increase sustainability, predictability, and quality.
  • Identify and resolve communication and workflow issues pertaining to external development operations, proposing, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Facilitate resourcing scale request between our Internal teams and our External Partners - proactively adjusting for our future needs and seeing contract changes through to completion with clear communication, organization, and a keen attention to detail.
  • Help create and maintain healthy relationships with External Partners.
  • Craft regular internal communications and reports to ensure effective dissemination of information.
  • Organize and drive recurring meetings between Bonfire teams and our External Partners so there is crisp mutual visibility and shared expectations without surprises.
  • Wear many hats, have ample opportunity for growth and ownership, and be supported in experimenting with new areas of interest to you.
We’re excited about you because you...
  • Have experience creating database frameworks in AirTable or similar software – tracking large volumes of data, and presenting understandable views for different audiences.
  • Understand the nature of outsourcing relationships and their required administrative workflows - contracts, invoicing, onboarding, and performance reviews.
  • Value details, organization, attention to detail, and ensuring the accuracy of information.
  • Love working in a dynamic environment.
  • Thrive on collaboration and communicate effectively with developers of all disciplines, cultural backgrounds, and skill levels.
  • Want to have a large impact while collaborating with other talented developers in a tight knit AAA studio, rolling up your sleeves and using your passions and interests to shape your role at the company.
  • Are open, humble, eager, and excited about learning and contributing in multiple areas of the studio. Your curiosity propels you to jump in and dive deep on new problems.
  • Value building trust with the people you work with.
  • Value working with a diverse team and welcome different perspectives.
  • Have a growth mindset and also care about helping others develop.
  • Are as passionate about the creative process and developing games as we are!
You’ll love working at Bonfire because we…
  • Have strong values that include transparency, ownership, and trust. We are a people-first studio that also strives for a high bar of excellence in our creations.
  • Celebrate craft expertise because we are a small, tight-knit group of highly experienced game developers who are as passionate about our team as we are our game.
  • Offer opportunities to learn and contribute beyond your focused discipline in areas of interest or passion.
  • Practice candor and feedback, leveling ourselves and each other up in the process.
  • Play games and have fun together, kindling our own love for games and learning about each other.
  • Believe that great games are the product of great teams that put their people first.

The base salary range for this position is $153,100 - $196,500.
